40 Years of Confitexpo: A Map of Delicious Sweets and the Legacy of a Vision. Some dreams begin as a seed, yet carry within their DNA the strength of an entire forest. Four decades ago, my dear and much-admired friend Graciela Díaz Serrano began to shape a dream: to create a space where the magic of Mexican confectionery could find its voice.

I personally had the privilege of welcoming her and accompanying her to her first meetings, witnessing those early steps that would give shape to what we now behold with deep wonder: Confitexpo, the most important international exhibition for the confectionery industry in the whole of Latin America.

Being part of this story right from the very beginning not only fills me with boundless pride, but also renews my commitment to our beloved Mexico.

Confitexpo is much more than a business event; it is a melting pot of national unity. In a highly competitive industry, this trade fair has succeeded in forging a bond of identity, providing a golden showcase both for the major chocolate and confectionery corporations and for the very heart of our regional development and its traditional sweets.

Every year, the exhibition halls at Expo Guadalajara are transformed into a symphony of colours, aromas and innovation. This magnificent event has positioned Guadalajara at the pinnacle of meetings tourism, demonstrating that Mexico has the infrastructure, talent and warmth to bring together the entire global value chain: from raw materials and machinery to the final product.

Behind this empire of sweetness lies Graciela’s tireless dedication and the generational handover to her children, exemplary professionals who showcase our wealth to the world.

Thank you, Ms. Graciela Díaz, for showing that genuine dreams know no boundaries and for sweetening the pride and bonds of competitiveness between Latin America and the world. Congratulations on these 40 years of living history!

After 25 years of euro banknotes in circulation—now in their second generation—the European Central Bank has decided to completely redesign the banknotes of the European single currency.

Following a decision-making process involving both experts and the public, two thematic areas were selected:

European culture—represented by well-known figures to highlight cultural diversity.

European nature— represented by birds and rivers to illustrate the transcending of borders by respecting diversity of cultures, nature and people.

In Loving Memory
of Marlinde Von Ruhs (1924-2021)

Foreword:
For us, the publishers of this website and the management of Loevens OG, it was a great honour and pleasure, to have been personal friends with Ms Marlinde Von Ruhs-Jalibert.

Not only did Marlinde create artworks which are deeply connected to her teacher, Oskar Kokoschka, she also exemplified the art of living a positive life. Starting with portraits series of well known personalities and celebrities during in her time living in Carmel in California in the US and later on as well in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Developing her positive painting style in something what she said: "I want that the people are watching my paintings and smile"

In her eventful life, spent between Europe and America, she not only maintained family and friendship ties, but always saw herself as a ‘world-trotter’ navigating between cultures.

Her unique sense of humour, spiced with beautiful personal charme and self-deprecation, not only entertained her guests at her Soirées and Sunday-Brunches; she retained the gift of being able to laugh at herself and the life.

With the planned prominent inclusion of Marlinde’s works in the Antipodes project, we wish not only to express our gratitude for her art and friendship, but also to give a small contribution to bring Marlinde von Ruhs and her paintings to the attention of a wider audience.

The Antipodes project isn't only about Marlinde von Ruhs Artwork, even if a very representative part of the Collection contains Marlinde's paintings. The Antipodes Collection is non profit and non commercial, no painting which will be presented and described to the public is to purchase. The main reason is to get in touch with Art of the other side of the planet, for free just for the joy of the observer only.

Update 2026

Road Show Support

May 2026 followed the second update in roadshow support for our clients B&B Fashion Design in continental Europe.

Locations:

Strasbourg – the charming capital city in Alsace, right on the German-French border. Known for its historic old town, ‘La Petite France’, its impressive cathedral, and as the seat of the European Parliament. Perfect for culture, history and Alsatian cuisine.

Colmar – A small, picturesque town in Alsace with colourful half-timbered houses and romantic canals. It feels almost like something out of a fairy tale and is particularly popular for its wine, Christmas markets and leisurely strolls.

Luxembourg – small but prosperous country with an international flair. The capital combines modern architecture with historic fortresses. Known for its high quality of life, banks and beautiful natural regions such as the Luxembourg Ardennes.

Paris - at last – We are very proud to be elected for supporting the B2B Meetings in Paris, Europe's capital of fashion. Paris – The capital of France and one of the world’s most famous cities. Famous for landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and the Champs-Élysées. Ideal for art, fashion, gastronomy and a romantic atmosphere.

In the meetings and events industry (MICE), international trade shows are far more than just venues for exchanging business cards or measuring exhibition floor space.

When analysed through the lens of business strategy and behavioural science, these events prove to be the most effective tool for building trust and mitigating risk in high-value contracts.

Behavioural economics demonstrates that major commercial decisions are neither cold nor purely automated. ANTIPODES

Antipodes (from the Greek ἀντί antí, ‘against’, and πούς poús, ‘foot’, literally ‘opposite feet’; Latinised as Antipodes) is the term used to describe the regions on the opposite side of the Earth, as well as the people living there. Figuratively speaking, the feet of the antipodes face those of the person being referred to.
